On a rainy evening of this week I went to Godot Cafe-theatre, in Old Town Bucharest, a very nice coffee house that owns a stage and hosts concerts, plays, improv shows. It is a different kind of coffee house because it resembles a theatre hall, it is a bohemian place suitable for a quiet evening in a unique atmosphere.
The reason I was there was Teo Milea`s piano recital, a pianist I had heard very good things about and couldn`t wait to see perform live. I was very excited to be going to such a concert, because every time I listen to a piano song I instantly regain my balance and piece of mind.
And that was the way it happened, even more because it was a special evening for Teo. He was going to leave for Canada soon, for good, and he wanted to make a farewell concert for his friends.
The "musical living-room", as Teo called Godot, was filled up with friends and fans that love his compositions, which he plays with his soul and then with his piano.
He performed the songs from his latest release Open Minds. I really don`t know how to describe the peace and melancholy that you feel when Teo plays the piano. I was smitten with a feeling of wellness from the beginning, I forgot all my worries and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Before every piece that he played he shared the story of every song. All songs are composed by him and you could feel that with every note that he played.
For me, Teo Milea`s concert was an exceptional musical moment that brought me joy not only through his openness towards the public, but also through every note that he played with all his heart.
This is the cover of Teo`s latest album that you can listen to on Zonga:
